Huntsville man among four charged in scheme to illegally export AI chips to China HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - Federal authorities have charged four people with conspiring to illegally export advanced NVIDIA graphics processing units (GPUs) — technology with significant artificial intelligence and national security applications — to China. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the group allegedly worked together to bypass U.S. export controls and ship restricted technology overseas by falsifying documents, creating fake contracts, and misleading authorities. Those arrested include: Hon Ning “Mathew” Ho, 34, a U.S. citizen born in Hong Kong and living in Tampa, Florida Brian Curtis Raymond, 46, a U.S. citizen from Huntsville, Alabama Reference: www.waff.com

The Rocket City Regional – Alabama’s annual For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition

The Rocket City Regional – Alabama’s annual For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Robotics Competition – is scheduled for Friday, April 5, through Saturday, April 6, at the Von Braun Center South Hall in Huntsville, Alabama, known as the Rocket City. This event is free for the public.

FIRST Robotics is a global robotics competition for students in grades 9-12. Teams are challenged to raise funds, design a team brand, hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-sized robots to play a difficult field game against competitors.

More than 1,000 high school students on 47 teams from 10 states and 4 countries will compete in a new robotics game called, “CRESCENDO.”

Citizens sharing concerns over busloads of migrants HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - There is a video on social media that shows a busload of chicken plant workers being dropped off at the Athens Walmart. The video has lots of people asking lots of questions. “We just want answers of where are they coming from,” said Athens resident Amanda Schulte. “How are they getting here? Who’s setting them up? And when is it going to stop?” WAFF 48 checked with the company at the center of all these questions, Pilgrim’s Pride. Officials said the buses are carrying workers from Athens and Albertville to their plant in Russellville. “Recently, a new refugee program has incentivized immigrants to move to our communities,” Kitchens’ statement said.
