Additionally, eight of the offenders had been previously removed from the United States and have federal convictions for illegal reentry after removal. Huntsville Utilities proposes 35% increase in water rates | Will Madison County Water Department Customers be Impacted? What Huntsville Utilities is proposing is no small increase. Water rates will go up 35 percent across the board - for residential, commercial and industrial consumers - if the city council gives its approval . The new rates would go into effect with the October billing cycle. Currently the monthy charge is $1.33 per 1,000 gallons for the first 3,000 gallons. After the rate hike, it would go up to $1.80 per 1,000 gallons for the first 3,000 gallons. The next 3,000 gallons, under the proposal, would cost $2.31 per 1,000 gallons - up from $1.71 per 1,000 gallons. Reference: www.al.com

Citizens sharing concerns over busloads of migrants HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - There is a video on social media that shows a busload of chicken plant workers being dropped off at the Athens Walmart. The video has lots of people asking lots of questions. “We just want answers of where are they coming from,” said Athens resident Amanda Schulte. “How are they getting here? Who’s setting them up? And when is it going to stop?” WAFF 48 checked with the company at the center of all these questions, Pilgrim’s Pride. Officials said the buses are carrying workers from Athens and Albertville to their plant in Russellville. “Recently, a new refugee program has incentivized immigrants to move to our communities,” Kitchens’ statement said.
