U.S. Space Command basing decision approaching final stretch At the request of Colorado lawmakers, the base selection process has been reviewed by the Department of Defense Inspector General and the Government Accountability Office. “They are still doing a 30 day public comment period on the draft environmental assessments, and I think we’re wrapping those up in the next week or two,” Dickinson said. The environmental assessments were done on six possible locations. “And so pending those results coming in, then it will go to the Department of the Air Force for their final decision,” he said.
